01 / LEARNING COMES FIRST
When the whole room clicks.
There’s a particular magic at a small community weekender: the whole room starts to feel in sync. You’ve been exploring the same ideas in class, and that familiarity follows you onto the social floor. Connecting with someone new feels a little easier, across different levels.
We wanted to bring that same magic to an event with almost 500 dancers.
In 2026, we put that idea into practice through shared themes across six workshop levels. Our teachers explored those themes at different depths, giving each group its own challenges and the whole event a common language to bring onto the dance floor.
The goal is to make it easier to find your flow together. Less energy spent figuring each other out. More freedom to listen, respond, play and get lost in the music.

02 / SOCIAL-DANCE QUALITY
Good partners.
One more song.
Comfortable, attentive dancing is part of what we teach and ask of everyone on the floor. In 2026, the music kept going until 6am. We care just as much about the feeling that makes you want another song: being listened to, finding room to play, and enjoying the music together.
03 / MALAYSIAN HOSPITALITY
A conversation over supper.
A question from class can turn into a conversation over supper. Someone you’ve just danced with becomes someone you’re getting to know. We want discovering Malaysia and spending time together to feel like a natural part of the weekend.

Your first MY Swing?
Your first festival can begin with a familiar basic and a new partner. You can come on your own, choose the parts of the weekend that interest you and settle in at your own pace. Our first-festival guide explains what to expect and how much WCS to know before you arrive.
SAFETY · RESPECT · SUPPORT
Let’s look after each other.
Say no to a dance, ask for less pressure or stop when something feels wrong. Our code explains what we ask of everyone and how to get support.
COMMUNITY LEADER CONFERENCE
The conversations that help a community grow.
Some of our biggest lessons as community leaders came over late-night suppers with mentors. We created the Community Leader Conference to make those conversations easier to access: a place to bring the questions your community is working through and learn with people across Asia.

When can I book?
MY Swing 2027 takes place from 8–11 July at Vivatel Kuala Lumpur. Registration is not open yet. Follow MY Swing on Instagram for pass prices, the registration opening date and accommodation details.
Can I come alone or skip the competitions?
Yes. You don’t need to bring a partner or enter a competition. Come for the parts of the weekend you enjoy.
How much West Coast Swing should I know?
Some WCS basics will help you enjoy the workshops and socials. If you’ve never tried it, start with local beginner classes. Our first-festival guide explains more.
